By accessing or using utahportal.org (the "Site") or any of its features, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site. These Terms are entered into between you and Jwood Technologies ("we," "us," or "our"), the operator of Utah Portal.
2. Description of Service
Utah Portal aggregates and presents publicly available government records from Utah state, county, and municipal agencies. This includes but is not limited to: election filings, campaign finance disclosures, legislative votes, public infrastructure data, jurisdictional records, and geographic data layers. The Site is provided as a public-interest resource.
3. Permitted Use
You may access and use the Site for lawful, noncommercial purposes including:
- Personal research and civic engagement.
- Journalism and public-interest reporting.
- Academic research and education.
- Government transparency advocacy.
Commercial use of Site data in products or services requires prior written approval from Jwood Technologies.
4. Prohibited Conduct

Utah Portal is not an official government website and is not affiliated with the State of Utah, any county, municipality, or government agency. Do not rely on information from this Site for legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. Consult the relevant official government source for authoritative records.

The Site's design, software, branding, logos, and original content are owned by Jwood Technologies and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Government data displayed on the Site is in the public domain.
You may share links to pages on the Site and quote brief excerpts for commentary or reporting, provided you clearly attribute Utah Portal as the source.
7. User Accounts
Certain features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate and current information at registration. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JWOOD TECHNOLOGIES AND UTAH PORTAL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Salt Lake County, Utah, or — for claims eligible for small-claims court — in the appropriate court. You waive the right to participate in class-action proceedings.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify registered users by email. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
